Winter Wonderland Children’s Ball
This one is for the kids. This event will happen on the 10th at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Mathews Park, Norwalk. Stepping Stones Museum is welcoming the young and the young at heart for a magical experience full of family-friendly entertainment including an exciting performance by bubble artist Keith Michael Johnson dubbed ‘Bubbleology – Secret Life of Bubbles’. Gracie Survival Tactics
Are you in any of the disciplined forces or know anyone who is? That is the Police, Military, etc. Well, this event might be just for you. It is scheduled to go down on the 4th of February between 10 am and 12 pm at the Hartford Dojo. The course is based on the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu developed by esteemed Gracie University. This course is specifically tailored to impart law enforcement and military personnel with the skills to handle worst case scenarios. All the techniques imparted here are solo-operation techniques meant to work against aggressive or resistant subjects. This 90-minute training exercise will cover several Gracie Jiu-Jitsu techniques that will enable you to better handle yourself in the field and keep yourself safe.
Hartford Boat Show
The Hartford Boat Show is presented to you by the Connecticut Marine Trades Association, and they will be displaying all kinds of boats, from luxury cruisers and fishing boats. The boat show will be held at the Connecticut Convention Centre on the 8th between 4 pm and 9 pm. If you are a boat enthusiast or you are in the market for a boat, this is definitely the place to be. Tickets go for $12 for adults and free of charge for children.
Michelle Iglesias Forced Perspective
This has been an ongoing event that began on the 19th of January and is set to end on the 17th of February, so there is still plenty of time. Forced perspective will be held in the David M. Hunt Library courtesy of English artist Michelle Iglesias. Expect to see large, life-like photorealistic paintings; paintings of nature, breathtaking landscapes portraits, etc. Her works convey expressiveness to the fullest extent of the word and it is sure to take your breath away. The event is free of charge and open to the public. So if you are an art enthusiast, there is no reason why you should miss out on this beautiful exhibition.
